Hometown Showdown is more than a competition — it’s an experience built for young people who are passionate about livestock and eager to grow. Through hands-on workshops, mentorship from industry professionals, and the chance to compete with their own animals, youth exhibitors walk away with real skills, real confidence, and a deeper connection to agriculture.
Empowering the Next Generation of Livestock Exhibitors

Who Is This Program For?
Hometown Showdown is designed for youth ages 8–18 who are ready to roll up their sleeves and learn. Whether your child is new to showing or looking to sharpen their skills, this program meets them where they are. Participants attend workshops led by industry professionals before stepping into the show ring to put what they’ve learned into practice — with their own sheep, goats, swine, or cattle.

When & Where
Hometown Showdown takes place every April at the Culpeper Ag Enterprise. This year’s show is scheduled for April 25th. Mark your calendars and start preparing — the ring will be ready when you are.

Why CFC Invests in Hometown Showdown
At CFC Farm & Home, we believe the future of agriculture depends on the young people who love it today. Hometown Showdown gives youth exhibitors something they can’t get from a textbook — hands-on education, expert mentorship, and the confidence that comes from doing the work themselves. We’re proud to invest in their growth because we know that by supporting these young exhibitors today, we’re helping shape the knowledgeable, capable agricultural leaders of tomorrow.
